Confirmed chartered 12/15/1819. Assigned to District 7 in 1820. 1819 Proceedings: Whereas, a dispensation was issued by the Deputy Grand Master, under date of July 27th, 1819, to authorize the opening of a Lodge in the town of Clarkesville, in the county of Mecklenburg, by the name of the Washington Union Lodge, appointing W. C. Wall, Master; Lewis Green, Senior Warden; and Matthus L. Baptist, Junior Warden; and the said dispensation being returned, Resolved, That a charter do issue for the permanent establishment of said Lodge, by the name of the Washington Union Lodge, No. 118, appointing the said brethren officers thereof, who are named in the said dispensation. 1833 Proceedings: Listed as dormant. 1838 Proceedings: Whereas, Washington Union Lodge, No. 118, formerly held in Clarksville, Mecklenburg county, has been dormant for several years, and whereas, many of its late members, together with others, ha petitioned the Grand Lodge for a revival of their Lodge, and it appearing to be for the benefit of Masonry in general, and the comfort and convenience of the said Brethren: Resolved, That the said Lodge be, and the same is hereby revive under its former charter, by paying to the Grand Lodge the sum of forty dollars, in full of all arrearages and dues up to the present Grand Annual Communication included. Resolved, further, That all monies collected by the late Treasurer of said Lodge, and ordered to be paid over to the Grand Lodge by resolution adopted at the last Grand Annual Communication, be, the same is hereby vested in the said Washington Union Lodge, No. 118, and that Brother James B. Dupuy be authorised to return all books, papers, &c. now in his possession, belonging to said Lodge.
