Confirmed chartered 12/15/1824.
A Dispensation having been issued, by the Grand Master, to authorize the opening of a Lodge at Thomas Bumpass' in the county of Hanover, by the name of "Temple of Virtue Lodge", appointing Samuel Leake as Master, Lewis Mallory as Senior Warden and Joseph S. Leake as Junior Warden; and the said Dispensation being returned, with the other necessary documents,
On motion, Resolved; That a Charter do issue for the permanent establishment of said Lodge, at Nathaniel Thompson's, in the county of Hanover, by the name of "Temple of Virtue Lodge No. 135", and that Samuel Leake be appointed Master, Joseph S. Leake, Senior Warden, and Ambrose Brooks, Junior Warden.
Resolved, That Temple of Virtue Lodge No. 155, be assigned to District No. 5; Equality Lodge No. 136, to District No. 14; Lafayette Lodge No. 137, to District No. 12; and that Louisa Lodge No. 58, now attached to District No. 12, be assigned to District No. 6; and Montgomery Harmony Lodge. No. 130, now attached to District No. 13, be assigned to District No. 15.
1825 Proceedings: Resolved, That the Grand Secretary be and he is hereby directed to deliver the Jewels of Stevensburg Lodge No. 40, to the Master of the Temple of Virtue Lodge No. 135, for the use of said Lodge to be returned at the next Grand Annual Communication.
1832 Proceedings: Listed as dormant.
