1793 Proceedings: A Dispensation to continue in force till next Grand Communication, was granted by the Right Worshipful Deputy Grand Master, empowering Nimrod Long, as Master; Charles Vowles, as Senior Warden, and George Latham, as Junior Warden, to hold a Lodge in the town of Stevensburg, in the county of Culpeper, to be designated the Stevensburg Lodge, No. 10.
A Dispensation having been issued on the 6th of April, 5793, to Nimrod Long and others, to hold a Lodge in the town of Stevensburg, in the county of Culpeper, being returned, it is Ordered, That a Charter do issue in consequence thereof, to
Nimrod Long, Master; Charles Vowles, Senior Warden, and Geo. Latham, Junior Warden, to open and hold a Lodge at or near the
town of Stevensburg, by the name of Stevensburg Lodge, No. 40.
1823 Proceedings: Listed as dormant.
Whereas it has been represented to this Grand Lodge, that there are many articles of Jewels, &c. belonging to the Stevensburg Lodge, No. 40, now dormant, which ought to be collected and taken into safe keeping by this Grand Lodge,
Therefore Resolved, That Brother Richard H. Field, be and he is hereby requested to collect, ask for, or demand from any person or persons all or any articles of jewels, furniture, books, or other property that may be in their possession, belonging to said Lodge No. 40, and forward them forthwith to the Grand Secretary of this Grand Lodge.
Resolved, also, That Brother Field be and he is hereby requested, to forward to the Grand Secretary for the information of this Grand Lodge, what had better be done by this Grand Lodge respecting the house, or Masonic Hall, belonging to said Lodge No. 40.
1825 Proceedings: Resolved, That the Grand Secretary be and he is hereby directed to deliver the Jewels of Stevensburg Lodge No. 40, to the Master of the Temple of Virtue Lodge No. 135, for the use of said Lodge to be returned at the next Grand Annual Communication.
