1788 Proceedings: A dispensation granted this day, the 4th of August, A. L. 5788, to Baniel Lovell, Haynes Morgan, John Markham, Baniel Tomkins, Samuel Tomkins, Willliam Shelton, Frederick Shelton, Tavernor Shelton, Bay Shelton, Thomas Lankford, James George, and others, to hold a regular Lodge of Free Masons in the county of Pittsylvania, by the name, title, and designation of the Pittsylvania Lodge, No. 24, to continue in force till the 28th day of October next ensuing, and no longer. 1789 Proceedings: Ordered, That a Charter do issue to the Pittsylvania Lodge, No. 24, to be holden at Pittsylvania courthouse, or its vicinity, and to bear date the 4th day of August last past. Confirmed chartered 08/04/1788. Assigned to District 8 in 1820. 1823 Proceedings: Listed as dormant. 1831 Proceedings: A petition was presented from sundry Brethren residing in county of Pittsylvania, praying that a Charter may be issued for revival of Pittsylvania Lodge, No. 24, which has been long dormant, accompanied with a recommendation from Lodge No. 122. On motion, Resolved, That a Charter do issue for the permanent re-establishment of Pittsylvania Lodge, No. 24, at Pittsylvania Court House, appointing George W. Johnson as Master, Alexander Baber as Senior Warden, and James L. Poindexter as Junior Warden, upon the payment of ten dollars to the Grand Lodge, and the Grand Secretary's fee for issuing the same.
