Confirmed Chartered 05/06/1786. Confirmed dormant 12/12/1809. Assigned to District 5 in 1820. 1809 Proceedings: Resolved, That the Grand Secretary be and ho is hereby required, forthwith, to enquire after and possess himself of the charters, records, jewels, funds, furniture and everything else, belonging to the Petersburg Lodge, No. 15; Saint John’s Lodge, No. 36, and the Ark Lodge, No. 73, it fully appearing that the said Lodges have ceased their workings, and are now dormant. 1824 Proceedings: Listed as dormant. Worth looking into. 1831 Proceedings: A Dispensation having been issued, signed by the Grand Master, to authorise the opening of a Lodge in the town of Petersburg, by the name, title and designation of "Petersburg Lodge," appointing John Pollard as Master, James Davidson as Senior Warden, and Lewis Lunsford as Junior Warden; and the said Dispensation being returned, together with the other necessary documents, and a petitioned by the members of said Lodge, On motion, Resolved, That a Charter do issue for the permanent establishment of said Lodge in the town of Petersburg, by the name of Petersburg Lodge, No. 15, appointing the same persons Offers, as were named in the Dispensation; the former Lodge, No. 15, having become dormant many years since, and some of the present petitioners having been members of said Lodge.
