Confirmed chartered 12/15/1824 in District 12. A Dispensation having been issued by the Grand Master, to authorize the opening of a Lodge in Luray, in the county of Shenandoah, by the name of "Lafayette Lodge" appointing Morgan A. Lauck, Master, Edward S. Robinson, Senior Warden, and Charles H. Flinn, as Junior Warden; and the said Dispensation being returned, with the other necessary documents, On motion, Resolved, That a Charter do issue for the permanent establishment of said Lodge, in the town of Luray, in the county of Shenandoah, by the name of "Lafayette Lodge No. 137," appointing the same persons Officers, as were named in the Dispensation. Resolved, That Temple of Virtue Lodge No. 155, be assigned to District No. 5; Equality Lodge No. 136, to District No. 14; Lafayette Lodge No. 137, to District No. 12; and that Louisa Lodge No. 58, now attached to District No. 12, be assigned to District No. 6; and Montgomery Harmony Lodge. No. 130, now attached to District No. 13, be assigned to District No. 15. 1845 Proceedings: Resolved, That a new Masonic District be formed, to be composed of Lodges Nos. 27, 137 and 142, to be called the 22d Masonic District Virginia.
