L. 5801, appointing Samuel Butler, Master; Langley C. Wills, Senior Warden; and Edwin D. Hart, Junior Warden; with authority to open a Lodge at Surry Courthouse, by the name of the Jefferson Lodge, and the said dispensation, and the other necessary documents, being received, Resolved, That a charter do issue for the permanent establishment of a Lodge at Surry Courthouse, by the name of the Jefferson Lodge, No. 65, appointing the said brethren officers thereof that were named in the said dispensation. 1828 Proceedings: Listed as dormant. Butler, Master, John A. Hunnicutt, S. Warden, and Peter T. Sprat-ley, J. Warden, and said Dispensation being returned, together with the necessary documents: Resolved, That a Charter do issue to revive and permanently set to work the said Jefferson Lodge, No. 65, upon the payment of twenty dollars in full of all arrearages, including the Grand Secretary's fee and appointing the same officers as named in the Dispensation.
