Confirmed chartered on 12/16/1840. Editor: Presuming District 7 based on location, but not in the Grand Lodge records.
Whereas, A Dispensation was issued by the M. W. Grand Master to open a Lodge in the town of Berryville, Clarke County, appointing Saml. B. T. Caldwell, Master, James Severs, S. Warden, and Wm. P. Wigginton, J. Warden, and said Dispensation being returned, together with the necessary documents.
Resolved, That a Charter do issue for the permanent establishment of said Lodge, by the name, title and designation of George Washington Lodge, No. 57, appointing the same officers as named in Dispensation.
