Confirmed chartered 12/15/1824 in District 14. A Dispensation having been issued by the Grand Master, to authorize the opening of a Lodge in Martinsburg, in the county of Berkeley, by the name of "Equality Lodge," appointing Harrison Waite, Master, James N. Riddle, Senior Warden, and Peter W. Kerney, Junior Warden; and the said Dispensation being returned, with the other necessary documents, On motion, Resolved, That a Charter do issue for the permanent establishment of said Lodge, in Martinsburg, in the county of Berkeley, by the name of "Equality Lodge No. 136," appointing the same persons Officers, as were named in the Dispensation. Resolved, That Temple of Virtue Lodge No. 155, be assigned to District No. 5; Equality Lodge No. 136, to District No. 14; Lafayette Lodge No. 137, to District No. 12; and that Louisa Lodge No. 58, now attached to District No. 12, be assigned to District No. 6; and Montgomery Harmony Lodge. No. 130, now attached to District No. 13, be assigned to District No. 15.
