Confirmed chartered as "Ahi-beth Lodge" on 12/11/1827 in District 9. The name could come from the Hebrew words, Ahi ("my brother") and Beth ("house of"), meaning "Brother of the House". Later changed to simply Ahibeth Lodge?
A Dispensation having been issued, signed by the Grand Master to authorize the opening of a Lodge near Hamden Sidney College, in the county of Prince Edward, by the name of Ahi-beth Lodge, appointing Reuben H. Dejernett, as Master, Booker Foster, as Senior Warden, and John Foster, as Junior Warden; and the said Dispensation being returned, with the other necessary documents,
On motion, Resolved, That a Charter do issue for the permanent establishment of said Lodge, at George King's Tavern, near Hamder Sidney College, in the county of Prince Edward, by the name of Ahi-beth Lodge, No. 147, appointing the same officers as were named in the Dispensation.
On motion, Resolved, That Salina Lodge, No. 145, be assigned to District No. 17; Doric Lodge, No. 146, and Ahibeth Lodge, No. 147 to District No. 9; Prince George Lodge, No. 148, to District No. 5 St. John's Lodge, No. 144, now attached to District No. 9, to District No. 8; Rockfish Harmony Lodge, No. 92, now attached to District No. 10, to District No. 11.
