1796 Proceedings: A Dispensation has this day issued by the command of the Most Worshipful Grand Master, to William King, as
Master; Charles Carson, Senior Warden; and Wm. P. Skellem, Junior Warden, to hold a regular Lodge at Abingdon, in the county of Washington, designated and to be known by the name of the Abingdon Lodge, No. 48; which Dispensation is to be in force until the next Grand Annual Communication and no longer.
Resolved as the opinion of this committee, That a Charter do issue to them, appointing William King, Master; Charles Carson, Senior Warden; and William P. Skillern, Junior Warden, to hold a regular Lodge in the said town of Abingdon, in the aforesaid county of Washington, designated to be recorded and known by the name of the Abingdon Lodge, No. 48.
1823 Proceedings: Listed as dormant.
1824 Proceedings: Whereas Abingdon Lodge No. 48, now extinct, in consequence of failing to send Representatives, for more than three years, to the Grand Lodge, and neglecting to pay the proper contributions to the Grand Charity Fund and whereas a number of respectable Brethren have petitioned to be reinstated to work under the Charter of the said Lodge, therefore,
Resolved, That the said Lodge be reinstated, upon the petitioners paying to the Grand Treasurer the sum of forty dollars in discharge of all arrearages which may be now due the Grand Lodge; and that Brothers John H. Fulton be appointed Master, John W. Stevens, Senior Warden, and Valentine Biddleman, Junior Warden, to carry the same into effect.
